Phu Quoc Island in Vietnam has opened the longest cable car in the world

The Hon Thom cable car on Phu Quoc Island is the longest in the world with a total length of 7900 m, connecting the city of An Thoi with Hon Rom Island, Hon Dua Island and Hon Thom Island.

On 4/2/2018, the Kien Giang Provincial People's Committee, Phu Quoc Island - District and Sun Group Corporation opened the modern three-wire cable car linking An Thoi City to Hon Thom Island in south of Phu Quoc Island. After the opening ceremony, the cable car and the Sun World Hon Thom Nature Park will welcome visitors from 14/2/2018.

The Hon Thom cable car has a total length of 7.899.9 m to connect the city of An Thoi to Hon Roi, Hon Dua Island to Hon Thom. Guinness Book or the Book of Records has ranked it as the longest in the world.

The entire cable car system at Phu Quoc Island has two terminals, six cable poles, whose largest T4 is 174 m high. There are 69 cabins. Each cabin can accommodate 30 people. The cable car operates at a maximum speed of 8.5 m / s which allows visitors to travel from An Thoi to Hon Thom in 15 minutes instead of 30 minutes by canoe at sea.
